I am from Egypt......

I am from Egypt,
the land of the pharoes,
the land of one of the oldest civlizations of the world,
the land of the great pyramids,
and the land of the Nile River.

I am from the lovely environment among my family,
my father who fought in the war to get our freedom,
my Mom who always took care of us,
and my sisters who I used to play with when I was little.

I am from the sand of the Egyptian desert,
the camels I loved to ride,
the sand of the beach in my small lovely city,
the sunny weather where I grew up,
and the Azan I used to hear coming from the mosque five times every day.

I am from the foul and falafel I used to eat,
the koshrie I used to cook,
the steak I used to grill,
and the tahini I used to dip.

I am from my school where I went to learn,
my teachers who taught us,
the national anthem I used to sing every day in my school,
and the Egyptian flag we used to raise.

I am from my friends I used to hang with,
the jokes we used to make up,
the games we liked to play,
the crazy moods we had together,
and the problems we tried to solve.
